Special features of BVIEER
The distinctive characteristics of the BVIEER are its wide mandate of teaching, research and extension. Its special features are its outreach programs to schools and communities and its Resource Centre for developing need based environment education material. This is a very unique feature as it is perhaps the only Institution that provides opportunities for training in environment for a very diverse group starting from school students at the primary level through secondary school, college and postgraduate students along with communities and a wide range of professionals that include teachers and personnel from the Forest Department and industries. Its notable achievements include its projects and programs that have led to influencing policy and implementation of environment education at school and college level along with strategies for Protected Area Management.
